Destination Australia Research Scholarship

The Destination Australia Research Scholarship is offered by La Trobe University to local and international graduate research students intending to study a graduate research program at any of the university’s regional campuses and to offer a chance to experience regional Australian cities.

Eligibility Criteria/Scholarship Guidelines

To be eligible, an applicant:

• Should demonstrate a high academic record and experience in conducting research.
• Should have completed either a Masters Research Degree with a research standard of 75 or Honors Degree, or Masters by Coursework, or ungraded Research Master’s Degree with an average score of 70 in the last 10 years.
• In the above-mentioned degrees, the applicant must have conducted research and completed a thesis of 15000 to 20000 words, or should have been a lead author in a peer-reviewed publication, or should include 3/8 research component in 1 year of research standard of 75 or above.

Note: The applicant will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence, research potential, and personal circumstances that may have hindered previous studies. The recipient should reside full-time in the regional area during the studies and must complete a survey before receiving the final payment.

How to apply

If the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, the scholarship can be availed by selecting a supervisor and submitting an online enquiry to avail the scholarship.

After receiving the approval from a potential supervisor, the applicant has to apply for candidature at the La Trobe Graduate Research School.

The applicant also has to submit a 500-word personal statement outlining the need for the scholarship.
