The New approaches to health promotion in the Wimmera - Industry Ph.D. Scholarship is offered by La Trobe University to graduate research students intending to conduct research on rural health issues, social determinants of health, and community health promotion. The scholarship is jointly offered by the university and West Wimmera Health Services.
Eligibility Criteria/Scholarship Guidelines
To be eligible, an applicant:
• Should demonstrate high academic record and should be aware of rural health issues, social determinants of health, and community health promotion.
• Should be residing at the town of Nhill and should be willing to travel between Mildura campus and Nhill.
• Should have completed either a Masters Research Degree with research standard of 75 or an Honors Degree, or Masters by Coursework, or ungraded Research Master’s Degree with an average score of 70 in the last 10 years.
• In above mentioned degrees, the applicant must have conducted a research and completed a thesis of 15000 to 20000 words, or should have been a lead author in a peer-reviewed publication, or should have included 3/8 research component in 1 year of research standard of 75 or above.
How to apply
If the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, the scholarship can be availed by submitting an application for scholarship and PhD Candidature under the supervision of Dr. Evelien Spelten and Dr. MacDermott.
The applicant has to appear for an interview with university representatives and West Wimmera Health Services officials.
