Mothers Union Freda Briggs Memorial Award

The Mothers Union Freda Briggs Memorial Award is offered by La Trobe University to all students studying Bachelor of Human Services or Social Work (Honors), or Masters of Social Work at university’s Bendigo campus. The Award is presented by the members of Anglican Mothers Union Australia Bendigo in the memory of Professor Freda Briggs.The award is administered by Bendigo Tertiary Education Anniversary Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria/Scholarship Guidelines

To be eligible, an applicant:

• Should have completed placement on Child and Family Well-being in subjects SWP5PPA or SWP5PPB. The placements should be in Child Protection and Departments such as Anglicare, BDAC, and CatholicCare.

Upon receiving the award: 

• Should attend Bendigo Prize Ceremony and should agree to publish his or her name as the bursary awardee.

How to apply

The scholarship can be availed by submitting an online application form along with a 500 word essay on how the applicant’s approach to the placement demonstrates the university’s cultural qualities of connectivity, innovation, accountability and care.
