The Ph.D. Scholarship in Molecular Virology and Structural Biology is offered by La Trobe University to local and international graduate research students intending to undertake research on the projects funded by the ARC.
To be eligible, an applicant:
- Should demonstrate high academic achievement and experience in conducting research.
- Should be comfortable working in groups and with external stakeholders.
- Should have completed either a Masters Research Degree with an average score of 70 or Honors Degree, Masters by Coursework, or ungraded Research Master’s Degree with an average score of 70 in the last 10 years.
- In the above-mentioned degrees, the applicant must have conducted research with a thesis of 15000 to 20000 words, or should have been a lead author in a peer-reviewed publication, or should have included 3/8 research component in 1 year of research, achieving a standard of 75 or above.

If the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, the scholarship can be availed by contacting Dr. Subir Sarker with a CV and a two-page statement outlining the academic background and research interests.
After receiving the agreement on supervision, the applicant has to apply for candidature for admission to the university’s Ph.D. Program indicating that the applicant would like to contest for the scholarship.
AUD 28092 per annum (paid equally every fortnight) along with Tuition Fee Relief
The scholarship is valid for three and a half years of study.
