The CSIRO Postgraduate Scholarship Program offers opportunities in science and engineering for exceptional graduates at Australian tertiary institutions.
Each year, the Program helps postgraduate scholarships for students to work on a project appropriate to one of several priority research areas. Applicants are co-supervised by researchers in an Australian university and CSIRO. Top-up Ph.D. Scholarships are applicable to Ph.D. students who have achieved first-class honors or equivalent in appropriate research areas. Students must also expect to receive a Research Training Program scholarship (RTP) or equivalent scholarship starting in the year of the CSIRO scholarship. Full scholarships may be applicable in certain circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
CSIRO provides full and top-up Postgraduate Scholarships for periods of up to three years. Opportunities will be offered to high achieving students who have received an offer to commence a Ph.D. program at an Australian university.
Top-up scholarships are applicable to those students who achieve or expect to achieve a Research Training Program scholarship or equivalent university award. In some situations, full scholarships can also be available.
Beneficiaries of Postgraduate Scholarships are generally required to be Australian Citizens or hold Permanent Residency status. However, in fields in which there is a national skill shortage, scholarships may be granted to overseas candidates, offered they meet the Department of Immigration and Citizenship policy guidelines. International students must be able to offer evidence of admission to an Australian university.

Successful applicants receive a top-up scholarship valued at $7,000 per year, plus a generous operating budget of $10,000 per year
