The scholarship was founded in 2008 and is maintained by funds from The University of Queensland and external donors. OP 1 candidates who has indicated outstanding academic, leadership and/or significant community service achievements during Years 11 and 12.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
A Candidate is eligible for the scholarship if the applicant –
Submits an application by the closing date for applications; and
Is either an - (i) an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder; or (ii) Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand Citizen, or international student who is completing or has completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia; and
(c) (i) will complete year 12 in the year of application; or (ii) has completed year 12 in the year preceding the year of application; and
(d) Achieves an OP1 or equivalent; and
(e) Intends to enroll full-time in a degree program in the following year, or after an approved deferment of one year.
(f) Has not undertaken any previous tertiary study, other than studies in special university programs designed for secondary school students.

This scholarship awards $6,000 per year, the total value of up to $24,000
