Since The Grattan Scholars program was established in 2012, scholarships have been awarded to exceptional Ph.D. students from Armenia, Austria, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, and the USA. Their research spans a wide range of topics, aligning with Trinity's areas of strength and expertise, including the international development, global financial system, and migration.

The Grattan Scholars program supports exceptional Ph.D. students who hold the potential to become future academic leaders and influential voices for social and economic development. Grattan Scholars are chosen not only for their academic achievements but also for their commitment to teaching and the ambition to understand and improve society through their research and education. Grattan Scholars also play an important role in delivering high-quality and engaging teaching enriching the learning experience of our undergraduate students.
This program attracts students from all over the world. Graduates, or current students, come from the USA, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Germany, the UK, Belarus, Canada, Australia, Belgium, and Moldova, to name just a few. This international diversity adds a positive and exciting dimension to the life of the Department.
