Celebrity scholarships for international students

There are a lot of interesting scholarships that are offered by universities around the world. Some of the scholarships are based on merits and are named after scholars. The other scholarships are need-based named after the university that offers the scholarship. But today we will tell you about scholarships that have been named after celebrities and are offered to international students.

  1. John Lennon scholarships

John Lennon was a member of the legendary group Beatles. In his memory, his wife started the BMI foundation under which the John Lennon scholarship is offered to students. All the students between the age of 17 to 24 can apply for this scholarship. All they have to do is submit an original song while singing it. The selected students can get an annual aid of US$20,000.

  1. Clara Lionel Foundation Scholarship Programme

This scholarship programme was established by the famous singer and songwriter Rihanna. Under this scholarship, international students from Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana and Grenada can study in the US with the help of the aid. The scholarship is only eligible for college freshman students. Students are given between US$5000 to US$50,000.

  1. Alec Baldwin Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by Alec Baldwin at New York University. It is given to students with exceptional Academy and artistic achievements.

  1. LeBron James Foundation 

LeBron James, who is one of the most famous NBA players of all time offers the scholarship to the students who want to attend the University of Akron. Under the scholarship, 1000 students get to attend the university for free.
