Fullbright grant offered to 16 Illinois students

Sixteen students from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have been offered Fullbright scholarships for conducting research and teaching globally. The scholarship is built to solve global problems and develop global cooperation. The 2022-23 Fullbright scholarship will cover the expenses of 2200 US citizens to live abroad for this academic year. The scholarship is very versatile and covers different disciplines such as fine arts, social sciences, humanities and the sciences. The 15 students who have accepted the scholarship are -

  • Carolina Bieri, of West Dundee, Illinois
  • Aeriel Burtley, of Chicago
  • Janani Comar, of Downers Grove, Illinois
  • Travis Dore, of Island Park, New York
  • Sophia Ebel, of Champaign
  • Aiman Ghani was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award in Thailand.
  • Hamed Kadiani, of Springfield, Illinois, and a graduate of Springfield High School
  • Lauren Lynch, of Ipswich, Massachusetts
  • Owen MacDonald, from Overland Park, Kansas
  • Sarah Marks Mininsohn, from Pikesville, Maryland
  • Folashade Olumola, of Homewood, Illinois
  • Amanda Oversen, of Highland Park, Illinois
  • Ksenia Polyarskaya, of Vernon Hills, Illinois
  • Damir Vucicevic, of Hamtramck, Michigan
