Harvard and the foreign collaborations

posted on: May 26, 2022

In the United States of America a provision was passed by Congress in 1986 that requires American universities to disclose gifts or charities which account for more than USD 250000 but for years this has been ignored by both the federal government as well the universities. Although universities disclosed the charity and gifts but it was very sparse and the warnings were very seldom as well. But the system changed a lot in 2019 after the Trump government started closely monitoring the data of universities. Recently Harvad has come under radar for a similar incident when Charles Lieber, who is the chair of the chemistry department was taken out handcuffed after being accused of hiding about fundings that he received from a Chinese University. This problem has become very rampant throughout the american universities in order to remain at the top.
