On August 13, 2022, a statement from the UK high commission in Delhi was released in which they said that super priority and priority visas will soon be released for Indian students in which they will be offered the UK visa on an early and priority basis. They also said that in the coming few weeks the need for UK visas are expected to grow and thus all those students who are planning to study in the UK should apply for their visa as soon as possible. Earlier the UK high commission had extended its apologies for the delay in giving visas to students who had applied for a very long period of time. In their apology, they stated that since the borders of the country have opened roughly after two years of the pandemic, the administration is facing a hard time dealing with the sudden surge of visa applications. Additionally, reasons like technological errors and Russia's invasion of Ukraine were also given as some of the issues why the UK high commission faced delays in issuing visas to students and other people.
