40 percent of Indian students applying for a student visa for Canada rejected

posted on: January 05, 2024

A recent survey was conducted by Toronto star under which it was found that 40% of the recent student visa applications from India have been rejected. All of the students were accepted by various universities and institutes in Canada but failed to get a visa. The reason for rejection in many cases is unspecified. This has made the rejection for Indian students the highest among other countries. Indian students are a huge contributor in the overall economy of Canada.

Every year more than three lakh students from India go to Canada for higher education. International students also have to pay five times more fees than the native students of the country. Recently, the minimum financial requirement was also raised by the government of Canada. Canada has now become very mindful of selecting genuine candidates who really want to study in the country and not just use a student visa to get a permanent residence in Canada eventually.
