The National Medical Commission has recently announced that 972 students from India went to study abroad to pursue an MBBS degree without getting an eligibility certificate from India. NMC has given a deadline of 10 days to such candidates so that they can submit the documents and get an approval from NMC. If the candidates are not able to carry out the required steps, their applications will be cancelled as soon as possible.
As per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 it is compulsory for all the candidates who want to study a medicine degree abroad to obtain an eligibility certificate from India. If a candidate fails to do so, then he or she will further not be allowed to go through a screening test in India to be able to pursue medicine.
