All the immigration changes introduced by the US in 2023 so far

posted on: December 26, 2023

The United States of America welcomed a record breaking number of international students in 2023. Around 1.2 million people from India visited the US in 2023 making it one of the most visited destinations by Indians. To streamline the process of immigration, the United States of America introduced a lot of new changes in the policy. Some of them have already been introduced whereas the others will be implemented from 2024 onwards. One significant step made by the US government is the announcement of the H1B visa pilot program.

This will allow 20,000 H1B visa holders to apply for the renewal of their visa by staying in the US and following some simple steps. The United States of America has also pushed the extension limit of the employment authorisation documents to 5 years at maximum. Also candidates applying for an F, M and J visa, can now submit their own details and schedule their interviews by themselves without any middlemen. The Biden government is also planning to introduce a paperless visa scheme very soon which will make the US visa obviously expensive. But the process of applying for the US Visa will become a lot easier.
