Australia to raise minimum financial requirement for international students by 17 percent

posted on: December 11, 2023

Australia will be making it very difficult for non-genuine students to migrate to the country by introducing a lot of new laws for international students. The minimum financial requirement that a student will need to show is going to rise by 17% and become AU$24,405. It is also being said that Australia might introduce a new law under which the number of years that students can stay in the country after completing their education will also be reduced.

Earlier, Australia had also released its roadmap to crack down on authentic education providers that send international students to low quality education institutes to earn lots of money. Australia will be monitoring the attendance of students to make sure that any person coming under the student visa category is fulfilling the purpose of the visit. The process of short-term graduating visas will also be simplified and strengthened.
