Australia updates for study work rights for international students

posted on: September 01, 2022

Recently Australia's minister of education Jason Clare has said that Australia will be updating post-study work rights for students as they have been the same for many years. This means that students will not be able to stay longer in Australia post their studies. Students who have pursued a bachelor's degree in Australia will be able to stay there post the completion of their studies for four years whereas students who have completed their post-graduation from Australia will be able to stay there for five years. Ph.D. students will be able to stay in Australia for six years after the completion of their doctorate. The education minister has said that they would like to see more international students staying back in Australia after the completion of their education. This decision is rampantly applauded by students as well as universities across Australia. Although thousands of students immigrate to Australia every year for education only 16% out of them stay back in Australia which is quite surprising. Through these updated rules students will now be able to stay back in Australia for a longer period of time without any hassles.
