As per the New Education Policy, board exams will be conducted twice a year. Also, the education ministry has announced that class 11th and 12th students will have to study at least two languages in the coursework. There will also be a shift in the pattern of the board exams. Rather than the current competitive and theory based exam, more conceptual based examinations will be set up. The purpose of these exams will be to assess the rational thinking of a student and to understand if they have conceptual clarity. The ministry is also planning to put an end on the dependency of textbooks in school. Not only will it help in reducing the total expenditure on textbooks but also promote open ended learning.
