British Columbia receives calls to restart compulsory masking two weeks after dropping it

posted on: March 24, 2022

British Columbia decided to put down compulsory mask restrictions after the falling coronavirus cases but the state has been receiving requests to bring back the compulsion. The Safe Schools Coalition which is a group of parents and teachers have sent a letter to education officials requesting to bring back the mandatory masking policy as the spring break for children is about to end. The parents and educators seemed to be concerned about the safety of their children and want social places like schools to have at least the basic precautions. Another reason why people are worried is because of the new wave of Omicron BA.2 sub-variant. So, the state is considering the possibility to bring back mandatory masking.
