posted on: September 22, 2022

As a university student who has just now moved into a new city or a country in his/her own house, it can become quite overwhelming to keep a track of your expenses. By the end of the month, you might notice that you have spent way more than you should have not saved anything. Keeping a track of your expenses is extremely important because overspending is a bad habit which might become very inherent if not controlled on time. Here are some apps that will help you in maintaining track of your expenses throughout the month and will stimulate money-saving habits in you.

  • Mint

Mint is a totally free app that compiles all your expense account tally in one place. It also lets you customize your own monthly financial plan. You can allocate certain fixed amounts to different categories such as entertainment, food, petrol, rent et cetera. You can also link your bank account to the app and it will offer you suggestions on how to make your financial position stronger.

  • Wally

Wally is very much similar to Mint except for the fact that you have to tally down your accounts manually. Also, you don't have to link your bank account in order to extract the best benefits out of this app. Just by looking at the budget that you have recorded, you can figure out what you can do to save money.

  • Goodbudget

This is a very interesting app as through this you can save money without even making any conscious effort for the same. You can select a fixed amount of money and this app will deduct that very amount from your account on a daily basis. The amount can be as low as Rs 5 to as high as 500.

  • Rakuten

This app has a network of its own and by becoming a member of it you can enjoy a certain amount of cash back on each purchase you make with your debit card. The requirement is that you have to sign up in this app through your debit card and the shop that you were purchasing stuff from should be in the network of Rakuten.
