Busting myths about spring semester in the US

posted on: May 15, 2023

There are a lot of myths about the spring semester in the US among international students. The fall intake is a more popular option among international students as compared to the spring intake. The spring intake is mostly for students who are not able to get into the university they wanted in the fall intake. Here are some misconceptions associated with the spring intake in the US.

  1. Many people think that spring intake is for courses that have lower enrolment rate and do not offer any kind of placement or internship opportunities. This is a total misconception as almost all the courses admit students through spring intake.
  2. Another myth about the spring intake is the fact that it takes longer to get your Visa approval if you have taken admission through a spring intake. But in reality, it takes an equal amount of time to get your visa approved irrespective of your intake.
  3. People also believe that spring intake has fewer scholarship options, than fall intake. But the number of scholarships provided during spring intake is equal to that of the number of scholarships provided during fall intake. The probability of getting a scholarship during spring intake is actually more because of less competition.
