The scenario of international education keeps changing every year. We see countries introducing new policies, some of which are for international students and some of which are against international students. Recently both Australia and Canada introduced immigration policies that didn't sit well with a lot of international students. Canada doubled its minimum financial requirement for international students, making it extremely expensive for students to travel to the country.
On the other hand, Australia has introduced a new policy to track down students who come to the country only with the purpose of working part time and not studying. Both these countries have been rejecting Indian students in large numbers without giving any proper explanation. This has led to a further decline in the interest of Indian students to study in both of these countries. Canada is expecting a decrease of 35% in the annual intake of international students as compared to the previous years. The number of applications from international students in Australia have also dropped massively. Students are now more interested in pursuing courses from countries like France, Germany, New Zealand, and Ireland as compared to the conventional study abroad destinations.
