This year onwards, CBSE has implemented a lot of changes in alignment with NEP, 2020 that students need to know about. Previously, the subject choosing criteria was extremely rigid. However, now students will get the opportunity to choose from somewhere 110 subjects. A new group called group S has been introduced that will carry subjects that are going to be skill-based. There are 39 skill-based subjects that have been introduced by CBSE. It is mandatory for students to choose at least five subjects. It is totally up to the student if they want to choose an extra subject as well. Students must also choose at least one language between Hindi and English.
