CBSE has made a very significant announcement recently regarding meeting language compulsory for all classes in school. Going forward, the progress of students will be monitored through a holistic progress card rather than a report card consisting of grades and marks. In August, 2023, the national curriculum framework placed emphasis on the holistic development of students while in school. Previously students had the option to choose between Hindi and a regional language decided as per the state. now students will have to compulsorily study Hindi in the class 9th and 10th. For class 11th and 12th, study of two languages will be compulsory from now on. Not only will CBSE make language a compulsory subject for students but also more vocational courses like art and yoga will be introduced. This will promote skill development among young students
