Common challenges that international students face after getting admission in foreign universities

posted on: March 01, 2023

Getting admission into the university of your choice is not the end of your journey for study abroad. There are a lot of other major decisions and steps that you have to take before finalising your migration process. Here are some of the most common problems faced by international students after getting admissions into universities.

  1. One of the most difficult decisions is finalising accommodation. It is a problem that is felt by most of the international students as they cannot decide whether they want to stay in college dorms or go for private accommodation. There are several apps that can help you with this problem.
  2. The second problem is getting a bank account in an international bank and understanding the money transfer process. It is very important for you to understand the banking system of the country that you are going to for higher education.
  3. Before going abroad, it is very important to get a hard copy of all the necessary documents. Many times students forget their important documents and later on they face problems.
  4. Culture shock is another factor that you must be prepared for. Also your chances of finding the same type of cuisine is pretty low. Even if you will find foods that serve authentic dishes, inspired from your country, the taste will not be the same.
  5. Also, you might feel alone as you won't have any friends or family to look after you. But you must give yourself and the country some time for things to get better.
