As per the UGC, there has been an increase of the registrations for CUET in Jammu and Kashmir by a factor of 7. Last year, the government could not cope up with the registrations received from Jammu and Kashmir because of low infrastructural facilities. To cope up with the issue, UGC will be organising most of the exams in hybrid mode rather than CBT mode in the region. This will ensure that all students are able to give their exams comfortably at the allotted centre and time. More initiatives that align with NEP 2020 will be launched in Jammu and Kashmir to transform the education scenario. Also the importance of accreditation and collaboration among higher education institutes in Jammu and Kashmir was emphasised. The government is planning to also establish a lot of research hubs in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming years.
