Other than the new education reforms introduced by the CBSE, a new Health and Physical Education Program has been introduced. Health and Physical education has been made compulsory in all classes from class 1 to 12th. All the students would have to participate in at least two sports of their choice and this is a mandatory criterion for appearing in board exams of classes X and XII. UGC has also released its guidelines regarding the same thing, making an hour dedicated to sports activities regularly compulsory in all schools. Financial assistance regarding the same will also be provided to ensure the required infrastructure. A provision has been made in which funding ranging from Rs 5000- 25000 will be given to schools annually for sports equipment.
