The number of students who enrolled for undergraduate courses this year at Delhi University is 2,17,000. But the number of students who have completed their registration process is merely 175000. This number is nearly 99,000 lower than that of last year. Last year the number of students who had completed their registration process for admission to DU was 2,74,144. In 2020 the number was 3,53,717 whereas in 2019 it was 2,58,388. It has been reported that the low number of registration Diya can be attributed to the new pattern that has been introduced by DU for admission. This year admissions were done on the basis of CUET which was an entrance exam rather than the conventional cut-off criteria. This whole process took a very long period of time, and the admission process was delayed. By then most of the private universities had begun their admissions and classes. This is why a lot of potential students who could have taken admission to Delhi University rent for some other private colleges.
