Switzerland is home to 10 public universities which offer its native students almost free education. Besides this, there are a number of polytechnic institutes, private universities, and specialized universities. Most of these universities are highly ranked and very prestigious which is why a lot of students apply for studying in Switzerland. In the year 2020 around 12300 students enrolled in the universities of Switzerland. Switzerland offers financial assistance from the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students. Only some students are eligible for this scholarship depending on the course and the university. Some scholarships are specially given to students from a particular country.
