The first overseas campus of the Indian Institute of technology will be opening in Tanzania in October, 2023. The two countries had been in a delegation for a very long period of time. Special team members from IIT Delhi and IIT Madras were sent to Tanzania to conduct a research and offer substantial suggestions. After much contemplation, both the countries came to a mutual decision of opening the first international campus of IIT in Tanzania. The education minister of Tanzania has said that the IIT Tanzania will become the educational hub for innovation in the country and will attract students from all across Africa.
