Earlier SAT’s were a compulsory requisite for many universities especially among the USA. Now after the pandemic many universities have made the SAT’s an optional test for students. Students can now give SAR’s as per their choice. But still it would be wrong to say that students with good SAT scores do not have an edge over the others who didn’t even appear for it. Top colleges look for all rounder students who have a knack over everything. Scoring good in SAT’s gives you a certain amount of privilege even though they are not a necessary criteria anymore. Also SAT’s are more rational as they serve as a common medium of assessment. Checking students with respect to their grades from their home countries and comparing them can become difficult for universities.
