The new immigration laws imposed by the UK that will come into effect in 2024 will impact many international students. From 2024 onwards, the UK will not grant dependent visas to international students that help them bring their family members to the country. Only students pursuing master's degrees focusing on research can get a family member. Many international students selected the UK because of being able to bring family members. In 2022, the UK offered more than 100,000 dependent visas to international students. But now that students will not be able to bring their family members along, chances are high that students will change their priorities when it comes to studying abroad. Many Indian students will choose other countries that allow family members as well.
