Despite the global recession and layoffs post pandemic, IIT Goa has been able to achieve 100% placement in computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Overall the placement record of IIT Goa stands at 99%. It is one of the recent IITs in India and is situated in the Ponda area of Goa. In 2016, IIT Goa was established on a temporary campus, after which the institute was shifted to a permanent building.
Initially IIT Goa, only offered 30 seats to students in the field of computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Now IIT Goa offers 150 seats to students in various streams of engineering. there are also some seats for students who want to pursue their MTech from IIT Goa.
