IIT Guwahati has made one on one counselling compulsory for fresh BTech students. Now, all the fresh BTech students who will take admission in IIT Gauhati will have to enrol in one-on-one counselling with professional counsellors that will be available on the campus.
This will be done to ensure the mental well-being of all the new students. In recent times, many BTech students from tier 1 colleges of India have ended their lives due to extreme College pressure. To avoid this, and to make sure that all students have the needed mental support, IIT Guwahati has taken this initiative.
