The university should be among the top 500 global universities in the overall ranking system.
Any university that is among the top 500 global universities under the subject wise ranking must be outstanding in the particular field.
The term global ranking of subject wise ranking has not been properly defined by UGC. It will be determined by UGC while giving these universities the license to operate in India.
These universities should also be authorised to have an overseas campus by the government of their respective country.
