Recently Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited India for a couple of days to celebrate 75 years of India-Australia friendship. During his tour, he announced that Indian degrees will be recognised across Australia under the Australia-India education qualification recognition mechanism’. Also, Geelong's Deakin University will be the first Australian university to open an overseas campus in India. A new scholarship called Maitri has also been announced for Indian students who want to study in Australia
All these policies are finalised to strengthen the relations of India and Australia. It will also help Indian students to study in Australia. Under the new mechanism, all the degrees obtained in India will now be recognised in Australia and vice versa. This means that Indian students who have pursued their education in Indian universities can now look for great work opportunities in Australia with their degrees. This is a start of a new friendship journey between India and Australia and also the celebration of the previous 75 years of friendship.
