Around 45 institutions from India have been ranked in the top 2900 educational institutions of the world as per the latest QS World University Rankings. This makes India the seventh most represented country in this list. IIT Bombay has been ranked at 149th position all over the world, making it the first university in India to be featured among the top 150 universities. On the other hand, the Indian Institute of science has slipped down to its previous year rankings because of some change in metrics as per which the latest rankings have been released. This year rankings have been made as per various parameters out of which one is the internationalisation of faculty. Not only universities are being ranked on the basis of diversification in students but also faculty. These changing metrics are a reason why it has become difficult for universities to retain their positions every year.
