Deteriorating relations between India and Canada have concerned a lot of students who are planning to immigrate to Canada for higher education. It is expected that Canada will scrutinise applications coming from Punjab and Haryana a lot more than before. This means if you are a student who has applied for a student visa, your applications will be accepted late and the rate of rejection will probably go higher.
Canada has already called for a pause on the free trade agreement with India. Last year Canada decided to tighten the application verification process, and after the current episode, it is likely to become even more stringent. But many consultants are positive that there will be no halt in the flow of Indian students from Canada as Indian students are major contributors to the Canadian economy.
