International students are still spending $400 on an average on English proficiency tests even after two years of pandemic. These tests have a durability of just two years after which they expire and students will have to take the tests all over again. Other than the compulsory language tests, students have to give additional compulsory tests for specific programmes in specific universities that charge them even more money. An average normal English proficiency test like IELTS costs international students around $400 which in itself is a lot. International students are demanding a change in the pattern where the durability of the test should be increased to at least five years so that students do not have to give the test again and again after frequent intervals of time.
