The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has taken a significant decision by including eight additional areas to the existing optional practical training. This expansion will hopefully bring a lot of extra work opportunities for international students in the US. The eight inclusions are landscape architecture, institutional research, mechatronics, robotics and automation engineering technology/technician, composite materials technology/technician, linguistics and computer science, developmental and adolescent psychology, geospatial intelligence, and demography and population studies. This has been done to attract more STEM talent to the US and create more work opportunities.
