When the NEP was launched by the Indian government in 2020, Karnataka was one of the first states to implement it. But now the CM of Karnataka has decided that after facing massive protests from children and parents, the policy will be taken back. The CM has said that since NEP is in its seeding stage, it is too early to comment on anything. Students and children are not ready for such a big switch which is why there is a high level of resistance.
As per the state government of Karnataka, there is still a lot of work left for NEP. These early-stage decisions will jeopardize the career of young students which is irreversible.
