Recently, the UGC has decided to de-list Manipur’s Sangai International University. This means that the university no longer holds the licence to disseminate education in India. The license has been cancelled and all students have been warned against taking admission in any programme at the university. The university cannot grant postgraduate, undergraduate, and PhD programmes to students. This has been done as UGC has been asking the university to provide them with the essential information related to the Institute from 2015. Despite multiple attempts and written notices, the Sangai University did not respond back. As a result, UGC had to finally cancel the licence of the university as it was not following a lot of regulations by the UGC.
