After giving students the liberty to appear for SAT and ACT as per their wish due to the pandemic, MIT has revised its pre-covid policy and made both these tests a compulsory requisite again. The university says that its researchers have found that these tests help in better understanding of a student’s academic profile and stimulate better judgment during the selection process. Many people have found this decision unnecessary as the other premium institutes have waived off these tests as necessary criteria including Ivy League Colleges and the University of Chicago which are also highly selective.
