More than 1800 universities in the USA drop SAT scores as an eligibility criteria for admissions

posted on: March 24, 2023

During the Covid, many universities decided to alter their admission criterias to make the process of application much easier. As the accessibility towards various resources was low, many universities made standard tests optional for students for applying to various universities. This means that students no longer had to take standard tests like SATs to get admission.

But even after the pandemic was over, many universities still took the decision of making SAT optional for admissions. Now, as per the latest news, around 1800 universities from the US have decided not to drop SAT scores from their eligibility criteria for admissions. Now international students will no longer have to spend extra money on taking SATs and also preparing for them. The course and curriculum for SATs is very different from that of the Asian curriculum in specific. Asian students had to take extra time in effort to prepare for these tests. Now the process will be more accepting and efficient
