More US colleges making tests optional triggers heated debates

Scholastic Aptitude Test has been a mandatory criteria for students to secure their admission in colleges for over a hundred years. This ensures that all the students go through a transparent testing criteria oblivious of their backgrounds in any way and to ensure equality of the opportunity. But now after the pandemic a lot of universities and colleges in the US have distanced themselves from this test as a primary requisite for admissions into the colleges. Although this move had been building up inside the universities for years the process gained pace through and after the pandemic. While some people think that high school grades are a better way of predicting a student's performance in college, some think that SAT' are more moral and generalised. The debate has raised a lot of questions and arguments.
