Studying for a business degree as your master's major has become a bandwagon trend these days. Irrespective of what majors you had in your bachelor's degree, many people go on pursuing a master's degree in business because they think that it will provide them with a much-needed acceleration in their careers. But here are some myths that you will hear about a business degree-

• Most people say that a business degree is too general hence you need to have some specialization like finance, human resource, marketing et cetera in it. Whereas the truth is that a degree is just a stepping stone and it cannot promise to impart all the needed skills at once. It is something that you will learn over a period of time.
• Many people perceive that a business degree is very easy compared to other courses like medical and engineering. But one must know that business is a very dynamic field where things change within short excerpts of time and hence one needs to be very spontaneous. Businessmen encounter a different set of problems every day which is why their problem-solving is better than most other people in the world.
• Another myth about this field is that it is highly competitive and replacive. The truth is that these days every field is competitive and survival is based on your performance. If you are working well and being honest with whatever task has been given to you then you don't really have to worry about anything.
• This one is a very rampant myth that most people believe is true. It is generally believed that students studying business have to be really good with maths and especially in things like trigonometry, calculus, permutation and combination, and other higher level maths. The truth is that students studying a business degree hardly deal with these topics and rather study simpler and practical aspects of maths like accounting, inventory management, marketing, sales forecasting, and financial analysis.
