The National Scholarship Portal has officially started the central sector scheme for scholarship for university and college students. There are multiple benefits that students can enjoy while applying for the scholarship. This includes applying for reimbursements, first-time scholarships, fee waivers and much more. This scheme has been started by the central government since 2008. The main aim of the scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to college students who have an annual family income below Rs.4.5 lakhs. Every year 82,000 scholarships are offered to both boys and girls in equal numbers. The registration for the scholarship is open till 31st January, 2024. The correction window will remain open till 15th February, 2024. Only students who have secured more than 80 percentile in their class 12th examination or equal marks are eligible for the scholarship.
