Researchers at the University of Otago have found a new way of obtaining ancient genomic data without damaging the source material which will be creating new opportunities for museums, archaeological institutions and historical researchers. The research was published in a very famous journal called the Molecular Ecology. The science behind this method is obtaining genomics data from small vertebrates without causing any visible damage to the underlying bone. This will prove to be a revolution for this century and will help modern scientists in a lot of ways and will also make its possible to preserve the fossils for more intense research.
