New Zealand to tighten visa rules as migration becomes uncontrollable

posted on: April 09, 2024

New Zealand has announced that it will be making changes in its visa rules as immigration has hit an unexpected mark. For an employee's work visa, the country will be changing the minimum English level requirement and the skill requirement for even unskilled jobs. Candidates will also need to have a minimum experience before they can apply for a work visa for New Zealand. The maximum amount of time an unskilled worker will be able to spend in New Zealand will be 3 years from now on as compared to 5 years previously. Also, New Zealand will be prioritising the natives in the skilled category so that there is no hike in the unemployment rate in the country.
