The number of students going to foreign countries for higher education from India will jump from 1 million in 2019 to 2 million in 2025. There has been a significant increase year by year and it is expected that the total number of students going abroad from India will be 2 million by 2025. The enrolment of Indian students remains highly concentrated in countries like the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. The direct spending on foreign education from Indian students has been $47 billion in 2022. This figure indicates the total cost of education, including the tuition fees, the accommodation and travelling expenses. It is projected that the total out won't cost will reach $70 billion by 2025, considering the increasing number of students going abroad. Most of the students who go to international universities for higher education prefer pursuing a masters degree.
