In 2023, Ireland received more than 7000 Indian students as immigrants. Back in 2013, Ireland only received 700 Indian students. In the past decade, there has been a tenfold increase in the number of students going to Ireland from India for higher education. Students are also given two years post study work visa after completing their higher education in Ireland to look for jobs. Around 90% of students who go to Ireland for higher education pursue post graduate courses, whereas only 10% of students pursue undergraduate courses. Ireland is now trying to promote courses like hotel management, hospitality and nursing among international students. Some of the most popular courses among international students in Ireland include computer science, data science and other branches of engineering.
